SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - The E-P-A’s “Waters of the United States” ruling expands the agency's oversight on waters and Senator Mike Rounds is concerned it will interfere with agriculture.
Rounds says producers are concerned about increased cost of compliance.
He says the E-P-A doesn't acknowledge that normal farming practices include use of pesticides or herbacides. In fact, Rounds says, the E-P-A in its ruling clearly reserves the right to permit producers for some of the regular farming practices.
Rounds cosponsored legislation requiring the E-P-A to rewrite the definition of waters of the U-S.
