Third DWI comes with aggravated assault on officers

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Police escaped injury Saturday night when a Sioux Falls man narrowly missed hitting an officer outside his cruiser, but hit a patrol car with officers inside, while fleeing in a car.

Officer Sam Clemens says 40-year-old Allen Carl Thue turned onto Dardenella from Marion and hit the curb disabling his car.

Clemens says Thue got out of his car and started walking toward police.  He was not listening to or following police orders so officers tazed him to bring him under control.             

Thue is charged with aggravated assault against police, aggravated eluding, reckless driving, resisting arrest and his third D-W-I.
