Five businesses fail alcohol sting

Sioux Falls, SD (KELO AM) - On June 25^th, 2015 the Sioux Falls Police Department conducted an alcohol compliance check of 27 businesses.  Of the 27 businesses checked, 5 failed the check. The five businesses that failed are:

1.    Wal-Mart                5200 W. 60^th St N.

2.    Dollar General       6705 W. 12^th St

3.    Gas Barrel             2500 W. Madison St

4.    Shop n Cart           4209 W. 12^th St

5.    Hy-Vee                  2700 W. 10^th Street.

The clerks that sold alcohol to the person under 21 received a summons to court. The businesses that failed face fines and possible revocation of their liquor license. In the interest of protecting the young people of our community, the SFPD will continue to conduct random alcohol compliance checks.
