Sioux Falls, SD (KELO-AM) - Severe weather rocked a four state area yesterday, causing widespread damage in the upper Midwest. The system to blame rolled south out of Manitoba, colliding with warm moist air to fire thunderstorms across North and South Dakota, Minnesota and Iowa. There were multiple severe thunderstorm and tornado warnings issued across the states until approximately ten o’clock, when the storms fizzled. Damage was reported in South Dakota near Mitchell, when a trailer home was rolled, crop damage in Edmunds County, trees down in Beadle County, near Huron and several buildings damaged near Letcher, in central South Dakota. A sign was damaged and a road was blocked in due to storm debris in Marshall ,Minnesota. In Northwest Iowa, tree damage was reported in Little Rock. No injuries were reported during the outbreak.The area’s next chance for severe weather comes on Tuesday night through Thursday.
