Sioux Falls, SD (KELO AM) - Sioux Falls Fire Rescue says no one was injured following an apartment fire at 608 W. Rice St. The fire was reported when a neighbor noticed smoke coming from the building and called 911.
Fire units arrived to find smoke and flames in a lower level apartment, and were able to extinguish the fire in about 15 minutes. The apartment building suffered moderate fire and smoke damage. There were no injuries and no residents were displaced, as the building was empty for renovations.
Sioux Falls Fire Rescue responded with 4 support vehicles, 4 fire trucks, and 20 firefighters. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Sioux Falls Fire Rescue was assisted by Paramedics Plus Ambulance, Mid-American Energy, Xcel Energy, Red Cross, and City of Sioux Falls Police Department.
