Sioux Falls, SD (KELO AM) – After a gorgeous 4th of July, the weather will be changing, starting late this afternoon.

Later on today, thunderstorms will develop to our west and move east.  These storms could be severe with large hail and wind gusts to 70 mph.  Very heavy rainfall can be expected with these storms as well.

The Storm Prediction Center says the area is in an enhanced risk for severe weather with this system.  The National Weather Service is predicting that the system will come through the Sioux Falls area after midnight, so another night of Mother Nature’s Sound and Light Show is in store.

The system will exit during the morning hours on Monday, with cooler temperatures on the way for the early part of the work week.  Temperatures will be in the mid 70’s for Monday and Tuesday.
