SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - As time runs out for cutbacks as the federal highway funding deadline approaches, John Thune hopes the Senate will consider a bill as early as next week.
Thune says he hope it will be a multi-year measure.
He says at least six different measures coming out of various committees will be blended together soon and will hit the full floor next week. He hopes a bill can be brought to the President soon.
As the deadline approaches, the Transportation Department has alerted South Dakota D-O-T about damaging cutbacks beginning August first.
