SIOUX FALLS, (KELO AM) - Celebrate the Big Sioux River in style as Downtown Sioux Falls, Inc. (DTSF) presents the 3rd Annual Downtown Riverfest, Saturday, August 15, from 4-11 p.m.
The community festival's unique venue has been instrumental in its fast growing popularity. The event drew over 10,000 in 2013 and over 15,000 in 2014.
"There's nothing else like Downtown Riverfest in the area, and we have the City of Sioux Falls and community partners involved in the Downtown River Greenway revitalization project to thank for that," said Maner. "This is a truly unique outdoor festival experience that highlights the best of what downtown Sioux Falls has to offer - for all ages."
Riverfest attendees can stroll along the revitalized Downtown River Greenway between 6th & 8th Streets and enjoy live music on two stages, drink vendors at four locations, kids' activities on both sides of the river and several food, fine art and shopping vendors.
New this year: the South Dakota Canoe & Kayak Association (SDCKA) will offer canoe rides from5-8 p.m. Each canoe can hold two passengers and costs $10 per rider with proceeds benefitting SDCKA.
DTSF is still in need of volunteers for the Downtown Riverfest event on Saturday, August 15th.
Every volunteer receives a commemorative Downtown Riverfest t-shirt designed by DTSF Marketing Director, Gina Rauk, and sponsored by Dacotah Bank.
