SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - The House yesterday passed the REINS Act which requires that Congress approve all big federal agency regulations that cost over $100 million dollars.

South Dakota’s Kristi Noem says unelected bureaucrats should not have the final say on regulations with that large of an economic impact.

Noem says last year regulations cost Americans nearly $1.9 trillion dollars.  She says that goes to show that the federal government has grown too large and too costly.

The Senate has yet to take up the bill which President Obama has promised to veto.
