Free back-to-school fair set for Saturday, August 8

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - The annual back-to-school fair, “Celebrating Families,” is Saturday, August 8, at the Washington Pavilion.

Organizer Darcy Jensen says the event offers free health screenings, school information and a kid’s socks and underwear giveaway.

Jensen says the goal is to get kids to enjoy education and that positve reinforcement starts with the first day of school.  She says having a good first day of school can help set the trend for the rest of the school year.               

The school fair is open to every child in the Sioux Empire and a parent or guardian must accompany them.
