SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - John Thune yesterday praised the Republican-led Senate for bipartisan bills passed in the first seven months of the 114th Congress.
Thune says in July alone, the Senate passed DRIVE, a transportation bill, and the Every Child Achieves Act.
Thune says the Achieves Act re-authorizes federal K-12 education programs and revokes problematic federal mandates like those that resulted in the phenomenon of over testing.
Thune says the Senate has passed 70 bills so far this year.
