SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Police say skimmers, electronic devices used to steal personal information from debit cards, were discovered last week on two southwest Sioux Falls A-T-M machines.
Officer Sam Clemens says this is the first time the devices have been used here.
Clemens says there are two components to the ATM skimmer. First, one goes over the slot where you swipe your card and takes your personal information. The second part is a pinhole camera used to record your PIN that you type on the keypad.
Clemens says covering the key pad protects your PIN number which the thieves would need to take your money.
