PIERRE, SD (KELO AM) – Attorney General Marty Jackley and the Division of Criminal Investigation today released the summary into the shooting of Cornelius Milk on July 20, 2015, in Salem, South Dakota. The Division of Criminal Investigation conducted the investigation at the request of the McCook County Sheriff’s Office.
The incident occurred on July, 20, 2015, following a report of a disturbance at a bar in Salem. “It is the conclusion of this report and the Attorney General that Deputy Randy Schwader was justified in firing his weapon and using lethal force. I would like to thank the McCook County Sheriff’s Office and the Deputy for their service and complete cooperation in this investigation,” stated Attorney General Jackley.
