SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - The Energy Information Administration says strong demand for gasoline and refinery outages on the West Coast pushed average gas prices from $2.47 in April to $2.79 in July.
However, the Administration says the price of gasoline is expected to decline to a national average of $2.04 per gallon by the end of the year. That's because demand for gas will be lower and refineries will be making lower cost, winter grade motor fuel.
High global oil inventories will keep oil prices low through the end of the year.
