SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Hartford voters go to the polls next Tuesday to determine if the town will retain or eliminate the economic development position.
Lisa Hellvig with Growing Hartford Campaign, proponents of keeping the director, says the issue has divided residents.
Hellvig says it's important to let owners, who may be considering moving to Hartford, know that the business climate supports that move and that economic growth for all businesses is important. She says that's accomplished by retaining an economic developer.
The Hartford City Council earlier voted to get rid of the position at the end of the year.
