Sioux Falls, SD (KELO-AM) The first day of public school in Sioux Falls, South Dakota's largest school district went well on Tuesday, according to the District's Dee Ann Konrad.
Konrad says the school buses did the job without delays and all teaching positions were filled before the doors opened. Attendance this year was projected around 24,000 students. She says school officials will meet on Friday to fine tune the actual numbers.
School opened later than usual this year in Sioux Falls. The voters approved the September 8th start date. The later opening means that the last day of school will be June 2.
