SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO AM) – The South Dakota Department of Transportation, in conjunction with the city of Sioux Falls, will be closing the intersection of Madison Street and Powder House Road on Monday, Sept. 21.
This intersection is being completely reconstructed necessitating the full closure. Some of the work includes pavement removal, grading and surfacing.
The closure is anticipated to be in place until the beginning of November.
Traffic will be directed to use North Dubuque Avenue, East 6th Street, Sycamore Avenue, Highway 42 and north Six Mile Road during the closure.
The interim completion date for the intersection is Nov. 6, 2015, with the overall completion date being Aug. 2016.
The prime contractor on this $8.9 million project is T&R Contracting of Sioux Falls.
