SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - The Minnehaha County Commission today voted against dissolving the county drainage board.
The state legislature passed an act last session providing mediation of certain drainage disputes but Commissioner Dick Kelly favors a local board.
Kelly says "whiskey's for drinkin' and water's for fightin' " holds true still today. He says it's important that the county still offer an opportunity to citizens to come before an appeals' panel and say "I have an objection."
The Commission voted unanimously to keep the current ordinance.
