HARRISBURG (KELO AM) - Authorities says a male, teenage student shot Principal Kevin Lein in the arm this morning in the offices at Harrisburg High School.
Superintendent Jim Holbeck says the suspect and the administrator struggled; the student drew a gun and it fired.
Holbeck says the school's vice-principal and athletic director went to the office when the heard the shot. He says they held the shooter down until police arrived shortly after the incident began.
Lein is recovering from his wound. The student has not been charged and his name hasn’t been released.

The principal of Harrisburg High School Kevin Lein was hurt in a shooting at the school this morning, authorities say.
The shooter is in custody, according to superintendent James Holbeck who talked with KSFY. The principal received a minor flesh wound, and is expected to be fine.
All Harrisburg High School students must be picked up at the South Middle School by noon today. All student cars must remain at the high school. KSFY's Tess Hedrick says that operation went smoothly
Holbeck says all students are safe and accounted for at the school. Parents are asked to stay away from the school for now, as the school is on lockdown.
All high school students will be at south middle school as of noon today. Parents must pick up your high school student at south middle school on Cliff Avenue in Harrisburg. Students cars must be left at the high school until further notice.
