SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - More counterfeit fifties and hundred dollar bills are being passed in Sioux Falls.
Lieutenant John Duprey says most phonies are showing up at drive-thru’s.
Duprey says business at a drive-thru can get hectic and sometimes clerks are too busy to notice bad bills. Still, investigators are asking clerks to pay closer attention to the bills that are a passed. Notice if they feel different than legitimate currency and take a closer inspection of the bills front and back.
Duprey says 20-year-old Joshua Charles Wood of Sioux Falls was arrested for passing a fake hundred dollar bill at a Freedom Value Center.
Detectives can't say of the incidents of fake bills being passed are connected.
