SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Halloween is an exciting time for kids of all ages and Sioux Falls Fire Rescue has some safety tips.
Brad Goodroad says kids need to cross at street corners and watch for traffic.
Goodroad says kids need to watch for cars that are turning or backing up out of driveways.
Goodroad says kids under 12 should walk with adults, and only go to homes with a porch light on and never enter a home or a car for a treat.
He says kids should have glow sticks or flashlights to help them see and be seen by drivers.
Eat only factory-wrapped treats, avoid eating homemade treats made by strangers.
