Sioux Falls, SD (KELO-AM) Sioux Falls breaks the building permit record for the third year in a row.
With two months still to go, the city is at $619.8 million in construction valuation, topping last years' record $619.5 million. The record set in 2013 was $588.2 million.
City Permits Chief Ron Bell says a record October helped pace the new annual record. Bell expects strong numbers next year, what with all the major development planned for downtown Sioux Falls.
Mayor Mike Huether says Sioux Falls is "one rocking place." He says that even with all the excitement, the city is able to stay one step ahead of the growth and is prepared for more.
