Sioux Falls reaches neighborhood milestone

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - The newest neighborhood association is the two-year old Lillian district in western Sioux Falls.

Resident Chris Semreau says associations strengthen a sense of community recalling days gone by when neighbors looked out for one another.

Semreau says national studies show that the more engaged citizens are in your community, the more they'll contribute to making your community successful.  Simply put, Semreau says, "people support what they help create."               

The goal of the associations is to enhance the livability of neighborhoods.  The Lillian Neighborhood is the 20th Association in the city.
