SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Senator Mike Rounds says the President calls it the regulations the clean power plan while Republicans call them an energy tax.
Rounds says one rule applies to existing coal plants and the other calls for a reduction in CO2 gases from existing and new plants.
Rounds says the rules will increase electric bills nationwide. He says estimates show that South Dakotans could pay 30% higher bills.
The Senate earlier this week voted on resolutions of disapproval in an effort to stop the EPA from implementing the regulations.
