Sioux Falls, SD (KELO-AM) - Don't put the shovels and snowblowers away yet-you'll have a chance to use them again on Monday. The National Weather Service says another winter storm is set to dump 8 to 12 inches of fresh snow on the area Sunday night into Monday. Sioux Falls NWS meteorologists are calling it a "prolonged snow event". Forecasters say the main focus of the system looks to be during the day Monday, when periods of heavy snow could impact locations along and east of Interstate 29. In the heaviest snow, visibility could drop to a half mile or less at times, and roads will likely become snow-covered. Be prepared for slow commutes on Monday as you head back to work or school after the holiday weekend. Stay tuned for the latest from the KSFY-TV Severe Weather Center staff!
