SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) -The House is ready to vote today on a long-awaited rewrite of the No Child Left Behind education law.
Congresswoman Kristi Noem says the bill gives more education control back to the states and local administrators.
The measure gives them flexibility on how they spend those dollars. It does not tie any federal funding or incentives to Common Core, which she hears a lot about at the state level.
The measure would roll back the federal government’s authority to push academic standards.
