Sioux Falls, SD (KELO-AM) The Sioux Falls School District has used automated phone calls to survey parents on whether they want the pledge of allegiance recited daily in city high schools. Currently a daily pledge is not required in high school.
School Board President Doug Morrison says, as far as he knows, it is the first time the schools have used auto calls in such a way to poll parents. He tells KELO-AM that there has been alot of incorrect information in the media about the pledge policy so this technology allows officials to go directly to parents to find out what they want.
Morrison says the results will likely be ready for discussion at Monday's meeting.
