SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - The Energy Information Administration says drivers will continue saving money at the pump in December.
The monthly, national average is expected to average 2.04 a gallon.
Triple A South Dakota says the average price for gas in Sioux Falls is 1.78, ranging from 1.69 to 2.29.
Meanwhile...the amount of electricity generated from burning natural gas exceeded the generation at coal-fired power plants from July through September for the first time ever.
And, the Energy Information Administration says, the effects of lower crude oil prices along with above-normal temperatures are lowering residential heating oil prices.
Onshore oil production is expected to decline next year but output in the Gulf of Mexico is expected to rise.
