SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - John Thune rose in the Senate yesterday to say Republican lawmakers made great strides in getting Washington working again for American families.
Thune highlighted the transportation bill, Powder River Training Complex for the Air Force and the Defense Act.
He says "they" passed legislation to contain an out-of-control bureauracracy of the Environmental Protection Agency. And, Thune says, legislation to begin the process of safeguarding Medicare and Social Security by putting them on more sustainable financial footing.
Thune promised Republican will redouble their efforts in the second year of the 114th Congress.
