SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - The Davison County Commission yesterday delayed considering a conditional use permit for an eleven turbine wind farm.
Denny Kiner says the Commission needs more information. Kiner says he knows that in a court of the law the county would lose after voting no because there is no wind farm ordinance on the books.
Some neighbors spoke out against the project including Doug Greenway who said he's talk to people who live a mile or two from turbines and they don't like them.
But Doug Greenway urged the commission to not stand in the way of progress. He says the project has minimal impact on ag production. He adds that where else can you generate electricity in an environmentally friendly method.
A decision may come in February.
