SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Police say an above normal number of tickets have been issued in the latest snow alert.
Captain Greg Vandekamp says there’s some confusion over the one time text alert.
He says text alerts are not tailored to your location. They are the first indication of snow alerts only. It's up to you to realize where your car is and that it's time to get it off the streets.
Vandekamp says officers are still writing tickets for plowed in vehicles in zone three.
Meanwhile...To the surprise of no one, Sioux Falls Police will add extra officers to tomorrow night’s patrol.
Vandekamp says he was asked about an app that records your D-W-I stop and calls an attorney. He says a better choice is to get a cab app and let a sober driver get you home.
Seven extra officers will be on patrol New Year’s Eve and Day.
