SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Fleet manger Gaylynn Huber says snow removal should wrap up sometime Thursday afternoon.

Huber says it costs the city more to plow around parked cars.  He says after the cars are towed or moved he has to send crews back to remove the windrows.

Crews are getting much needed time-off through the weekend and will button-up miscellaneous snow removal next week.

Huber says some residents are complaining that snow gates weren’t as effective in the latest snow alert.

Huber says they wonder why the gates worked better in the previous ten inch snow on Christmas.

He says snow gates were used but the last snow was very dry, very fluffy, and the snow moved over and around them.

He says the last snow was like pushing feathers.
