SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Households will see lower natural gas and heating bills this winter than previously thought, in fact the lowest in over a decade.
The Energy Information Administration says the average household that heats with oil will experience a 41% drop in costs, paying just under $1,100.
Households relying primarily on natural gas to stay warm will pay an average of $532 this winter, down 17% from last winter.
Falling crude oil and natural gas prices and warmer than normal weather in the late fall are the main contributors to lower household bills.
