SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - The air was thick with tension at last night’s city council meeting between Mayor Mike Huether and Councilman Rex Rolfing.
The donnybrook was over public input taken on first reading of the tax on rental cars.
Mayor Huether struggled with allowing the public to present testimony during a first reading. Huether says an individual wanted to present a counterpoint to the proponent of the tax on rental cars.
That's when Councilman Rolfing told the Mayor that he should of thought about that before allowing the open discussion of agenda items that would be addressed later in the meeting. Huether says that happens every week.
The council advanced the measure to second reading February 1st.
