SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Police will harvest 75 deer in northeast and southeast Sioux Falls with firearms before February 15.
Officer Sam Clemens says the meat will be donated to area food banks.
Clemens says the goal is to keep the deer herds healthy, free from disease and starvation. The effort will also protect property hopefully reducing the number of deer-car accidents.
Clemens says the 30 deer taken last year didn’t make a dent in the urban herds.
