Sioux Falls man arrested for second degree kidnapping

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - A Sioux Falls man was arrested for second degree kidnapping by refusing to let his girlfriend leave his apartment.

Officer Sam Clemens says 23-year-old Tyrell Wilson Shields and the victim got into an argument over their child.  They do not live together and she was there to talk about their child

Clemens says Shields is accused of punching the victim in the face and refusing to let her leave his bedroom.  Shields allegedly held a pocket knife to the woman's neck.  

He eventually left the apartment and was later found at another residence. The victim called police after Shields left.  

Shields is also charged with domestic aggravated assault. The incident happened at an apartment in the 100 block of South Duluth Avenue late Thursday night.

The 22-year-old woman suffered a bloody noseand a scratch to her neck.
