SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - A transient is accused of stealing morphine, OxyContin and oxycodone from the eastside Shopko pharmacy on East Arroehead Parkway early this morning.

Officer Sam Clemens says when officers arrived on scene they saw a man running back of the store and they gave chase. Officers eventually found 42-year-old Jose Antonio Monte-Sosorio hiding under a car in the 4700 block of East 15th Street.

When officers searched Monte-Sosorio they found OxyContin, oxycodone and morphine in bottles on his person.  Clemens says police estimate the stolen narcotics worth about $5,000.

Because there was no forced entry, Clemens says investigators aren't sure how Monte-Sosorio got into the store and eventually the pharmacy.  One theory is that he may have hidden somewhere in the store at closing time.

Monte-Sosorio is charged with burglary, fleeing; he ran from police, possession of a controlled substance and grand theft.
