Early morning beating lands city man in hospital

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - A Sioux Falls man remains hospitalized after he was beaten early this morning in a parking lot on east 10^th Street.

     Officer Sam Clemens says the victim and 32-year-old James Deng know each other and started arguing.  He says Deng is accused of hitting the 41-year-old victim in the head with a beer bottle.  He says the attack continued until an officer in the area witnessed the incident.                

     Clemens says Deng is charged with aggravated assault.

     He couldn’t say what the men were arguing about and there’s no word on the victim’s condition.  He says both men had been drinking.
