SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Authorities are interviewing two people located in Dell Rapids late this morning in connection with yesterday's fatal shooting in Sioux Falls.
Dell Rapid Schools were under a secured perimeter but that precaution has been lifted and the schools are running normally.
Officer Sam Clemens says a 20-year-old man was fatally shot in his home in northwest Sioux Falls and his 48-year-old father was wounded. Clemens says investigators have a good idea on what happened yesterday afternoon at the home on North Alaska Avenue. But he says they don't know why it happened.
He says the house was targeted and there's no reason for neighbors to feel threatened. It was not a random act.
Clemens says the victim’s names are not being released.
He says detectives have talked to the father who is recovering from his wounds. The shooter used a handgun on his victims
