Sioux Falls, SD (KELO-AM) The South Dakota Civil Air Patrol has a brand new Cessna 182 G1000 to help with its ongoing mission of air search and rescue and homeland security. The new plane has a $500,000 price tag.
The new plane will be based in Sioux Falls and joins 6 other CAP fleet aircraft in Brookings, Pierre, Rapid City, and Spearfish. CAP hopes to redevelop squadrons in Watertown and Aberdeen this year.
CAP is the official USAF volunteer Auxiliary and has 550 aircraft across 52 states and territories. The United States Air Force buys the aircraft.
