SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Sioux Falls police say there were 66 car accidents yesterday.

A disappointing total after the morning’s accidents numbered just 17.

Officer Sam Clemens says snow alert tow and ticket figures may be in tomorrow.  Clemens says the first major snow of the season always catches some people off guard.  He says police see a large number of tickets during the first snow alert.

Clemens says once people get that first ticket and are reminded of the ordinance, then the numbers drop off.

Clemens says there were 12 crashes during Thursday’s morning commute.
