SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Dakota Wesleyan University has another building project on tap.
Wesleyan President Amy Novak says it’s a new theater expansion. Novak says the administration sees the new building as creating a synergy for the arts in the community at Weslyan and in Mitchell itself.
Novak highlights the theater’s attributes as a 5,000 square feet dedicated to theater including space for classrooms, costumes and makeup.
The theater is expected to cost about a million dollars. Novak says most of the fundraising is complete. She says there is still a little fundraising to go but she hopes the groundbreaking can go as scheduled this fall.
Hughes Hall, which houses the D-W-U’s current theater, will be demolished to make room for the new building.
