SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) -The economic impact of last year’s events in downtown Sioux Falls totaled $1.8 million.
Brienne Maner with Downtown Sioux Falls says the heart of the city is a thriving cultural and economic center.
Other highlights in the recently released DTSF report: DTSF received the International Downtown Association Merit Award for the Good Neighbor Guide, small business education seminars, new web visitors up over 60%, planted and maintained over 100 holiday spruce tip planters and removed over 27,000 pounds of trash, litter and debris from downtown sidewalks.
DTSF is a non-profit corporation committed to the upgrading and enhancing the quality of downtown. That's accomplished by providing excitement, activity and a positive image in the community.
Maner says events downtown will start picking up the end of April.
