SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - An arrest warrant was issued for 53-year-old Cameron Young still hospitalized along with his shooting victim, 30-year-old Kellie Dagel, in an failed murder-suicide last month.
Officer Sam Clemens says when Young is released from the hospital, he’ll face charges of attempted murder, aggravated assault and committing a felony with a firearm.
Clemens says investigators have determined that the gun Young used to allegedly shoot Dagel and then himself was a .25 caliber handgun reported stolen out of Lincoln County in 2012. Police have not determined how Young came into possession of the gun.
Clemens says Dagel’s condition is improving slightly and there’s no word on when Young may be discharged.
The attempted murder-suicide happened Friday, February 26th, at a residence on Karmya Circle on southwest Sioux Falls.
