SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Sioux Falls Police issued just over 500 snow alert parking tickets for the last storm.
Officer Sam Clemens says the tickets carry a $35 fine that rises to $70 if unpaid in three days.
Clemens says there's ample time for people to get their cars off the road and onto a different street or parking place. He says police don't issue citations until the vehicle is plowed in by city crews.
Clemens says cars parked on emergency snow routes are ticketed and towed immediately.
He says parking patrols also issue snow alert citations.
