SIOUX FALL, S.D. (KELO AM) - Of the available Better Business Bureau services, complaints, investigations and mediation numbers last year were unchanged from 2014.
Jessie Schmidt says the BBB also ranked the top ten industries receiving the most consumer complaints.
Schmidt says cellular phone companies, supplies and service, and telephone communications were the number one and number two leaders for complaints.
The complaint list then included new car auto dealers; television, cable, CATV and satellite; collection agencies; used car auto dealers; retail furniture; banks; internet shopping and auto repair.
Schmidt says B-B-B’s customer reviews and scam tracker usage increased last year.
When consumers look up individual businesses; inquiries were up 4.3% to an all-time high of 172.8 million. Reports to BBB Scam Tracker, a new service last year, topped 13,000 in just a few months.
The only decrease was in general assistance, counseling and industry information which was down by ten percent. That category is dominated by phone calls to local BBB offices. Most consumers reach out online.
