SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - The Minnehaha County Commission today reduced the speed limit on a half-mile stretch of County Highway 130y, southeast of Crooks between Dawson and Trade Avenues.
County Highway Superintendent D-J Buthe says there were complaints about speed and safety.
Buthe says the county performed an assessment and found some motorists were driving around stopped school buses, which is illegal. He notified the sheriff's office and talked with the school bus driver on how to report such incidents.
Buthe says there are more points of access along that road than the county would like to see. With that, he recommended that the posted speed limit go from 55 to 45 on that short section of road.
