SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - The Minnehaha County Commission next week considers establishing a reserve fund of one million dollars for new accounting software.
Auditor Bob Litz says the fund, approved four years ago by the legislature, acts as a flexible savings account.
Litz says the Commission could spend all of the fund or part of it. He says some or all can also be returned to the general fund.
Litz says the county's general fund cash balance as of the first of the year was $12 million or about $460,660 more than a year ago.
Litz says he'll bring a resolution to the commission for its consideration at next Tuesday's meeting.
