SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - The Minnehaha County Sheriff's Office says three men are charged with aggravated assault after a fight Friday night in Hartford over the ownership of a tow truck.
Sargeant Jason Gearman says once the assault began, a friend of Gerald Gossmeyer, who owns the salvage yard where the incident happened, fired a gun into the air.
Gearman says the civil matter quickly escalated into a criminal case. He says 25-year-old Derek Rondeau of Sioux Falls felt he owned the tow truck and went to Gossmeyer's salvage yard to recover it. Gossmeyer doesn't own the truck but knows who does and he tried stopping Rondeau.
Jordan Almond and Montana Ennenga, both 21 and from Brandon, and Rondeau are charged with aggravated assault.
Almond is accused of wielding a crow bar and hitting a victim in the leg.
