SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - A passenger escaped serious injury when he got out of the car he was in to confront the driver of a car in a road rage incident yesterday at 26th Street and Spring Avenue.

Officer Sam Clemens says the incident started at a construction site on Minnesota Avenue where the lanes reduced to one and the suspect vehicle zipped in front of the female victim who honked at him.

The suspect backed into the victim who also backed-up because no one was behind her.  The woman got off Minnesota and the suspect followed.  When both cars stopped at 26th and Spring the passenger in the woman's vehicle got out to approach the suspect.

The suspect then hit the victim with his silver, Chevy Cruz.  Clemens says the victim flew about three feet but he wasn't seriously injured and turned down any medical attention.

The victim did get the car's license plate numbers but he has not been found yet.

The man and woman are from Oacoma.
